Braden and I (Torri) met while working in a call-center for a large, national cable company. Since we're both technically inclined we held positions as Technical Support Representatives and fixed peoples' cable, internet and digital phone issues over the phone. This is the kind of stuff that romance novels are written about...
We started dating, moved in together VERY shortly after and madness quickly ensued!
Skip to my birthday in February 2010! We were making the annual pilgrimage to my college stomping grounds (Kelowna) to spend the weekend with my best friends on the entire planet. Apparently Braden had gotten in contact with my friends and had told them that this was THE weekend. When we arrived at the airport in Kelowna my four best friends were standing there with signs that said "Torri and Braden !!!" and were each holding a word (or exclamation marks as the case may vary). As we walked up to greet them they quickly flipped the signs over to reveal the hidden message "Torri, will you marry me?" I was completely in shock and thought that this was some big joke for my birthday. Pretty soon, when the diamond was on my finger, I knew it was for real.
